INDUSTRIAL SALES ENGINEER
LPI, Inc., an Eau Claire, WI manufacturer of industrial lifting equipment,
has an immediate opening for an Industrial Sales Engineer.
This full-time position will be responsible for:
- Identifying customer needs through a product application process.
- Developing, investigating, and pursuing sales leads through an established calling plan.
- Maintaining customer relations with established OEM accounts.
- Data entry of communications, orders and quotes in a timely manner.
- Working closely with Engineering, Drafting and Production personnel.
- New market/product identification and development.
- Attending applicable trade shows when called upon.
- Managing projects from initial contact through after-sale follow up.
- Handling routine administrative duties, i.e. distributor agreements, management reports, correspondence, etc.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering Technology or Business Administration.
- A minimum of 3 years combined inside/outside industrial sales experience is desired although not required.
- Be mechanically inclined with the ability to understand industrial processes and systems.
- Have a basic understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Have excellent communication skills to include verbal, written and listening skills.
- Have excellent telephone etiquette.
- Be computer literate and able to readily learn new software applications.
- Have above average interpersonal skills, i.e. the ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers at all levels.
- Be a high energy, self-motivated team player.
- Be available for domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time.

WELDER
Perform welding duties (Gas Metal Arc and Flux Core welding) and support other areas as needed. Ideal candidates will have previous certification in Gas Metal Arc and Flux Core welding. Candidates must also be able to read tape measures and micrometers and have experience in reading and understanding mechanical drawings and tolerances. Candidates must also be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly and have the ability to drive forklift and operate material handling equipment safely.
Other qualifications needed include:
- Basic computer knowledge for scanning in/out of work orders
- Show up to work on a daily basis
- Perform safely and efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Willing to cross-train in other areas including but not limited to sheet metal fabrication
- Must have a positive attitude towards team members and company and be able to work within a team setting.
